JIMMY CARTER-A man of peace.
PRESIDENT JIMMY CARTER-who only served one term after losing to Ronald Reagan seemed to be always a man on a mission-Peace.And with all that hes gone through health wise his faith in God and country seems stronger than ever.
IN PARADE recently loved reading about his faith in JESUS-The Prince of Peace, credits his mother for a good impression on him in his formative years.Human Rights is something he always worked towards. They say during his presidency he kept the peace and promoted Human Rights.
Regardless of how we feel about the policies of our presidents-I do believe they work hard to try and better America. And try to stable peace within the world and it's not always easy. The President and Mrs.Carter always had a purpose and they are fulfilling it with The Carter Center a non-governmental organization and a beacon of hope for many in developing nations whose problems that have not been addressed by other non-governmental organizations, their governments or the United Nations.
Mrs.Carter said,"We work with the poorest, most isolated people in the world. And often if we weren't there, there would be no one to help them."
The center also works to strengthen democracies and has monitored 107 elections in 39 countries. And has helped to peacefully resolve disputes throughout much of the world. That's awesome!
THE 39TH PRESIDENT has also been concerned with the growing tension with North Korea and concerned with whats going on inside North Korea. He offered the Trump administration to assist in talks with North Korea. An idea President Trump should consider especially now he will talk with the North Korea soon.Carter as an adviser would help.
Carter helped the Clinton administration so it don't hurt to have a man of peace with you.And with them THE PRINCE OF PEACE too.
HELPING OTHERS-The Carter Center is also involved with Habitat for Humanity.
He admired President Harry Truman for his desegregating the military in 1948 during his time in the Navy.In 2002 he became the first former president to receive the Noble Peace prize and there is no doubt he earned it.He credits his high school teacher Julia Coleman who's advice that helped him through the years:
"We must adjust to changing times and still hold to unchanging principles."
Change certainly came with the election of our 45th president Donald Trump.Global warming and nuclear destruction are the two things that concerns Carter the most. But he is optimistic.
"I have good faith in the future."He says.
After been given a death sentence Jimmy Carter survived and his mission of peace is even greater.I say God bless you Mr.President and Mrs.Carter.Well done.
This was inspiring thanks to PARADE for sharing it.
