THE EMPTY HOUSE IN SPRINGFIELD!
THE EMPTY HOUSE IN SPRINGFIELD-They say the Lincoln's lived in this house the Greek Rival for 17yrs.When President-elect Lincoln left for the White House in 1861 he never returned to it and I'm not sure if Mary Todd and her sons did,but I can only imagine those visiting the home today are thinking of the man this state of Illinois refers itself to as "The Land of Lincoln."But how empty it must be.
We honor Lincoln in our words but not enough in our duties. We honor his honesty but yet we live in dishonesty. We never bind up the wounds,we only keep adding to them.We keep dividing the house far enough where fear of it collapsing might be inevitable surrounds us.The taxes always increases but never decreases.Oh yes,how empty it is in that house in Springfield.
While some Illinois citizens are packing and leaving, stubborn men in Springfield stay firm to their grasp of power. It reveals their true character. They build a wall around the city and declare it a sanctuary city, where violence increases and not decreases, laws are disobeyed and corruption is their policy.Yes it is empty in that house in Springfield.
The lights are on but nobody's home. How lonely that train ride home was.
