LET IT BE...ELVIS!

 

"Let it be me..." Elvis Presley sang once and of course the world made it him.


AN INFLUENCE like no other. Touched so many and made lives better. Brought happiness and joy in his performances. For he believed his main purpose was to entertain and make people happy and in which he fulfilled both. And 45yrs after his passing-he continues to make them happy.

I DON'T THINK he ever imagined the outcome of his success would be. When he went into SUN RECORDS all he wanted was to make a record for his mom's birthday. They had asked him then,"Who do you sound like?" Elvis replied,"I sound like nobody." And he wasn't kidding. The world now is trying to sound like him. To me that's funny.

BUT IT ALSO sounds how original he was. It is why I don't watch too much movies of actors playing him. Not because I am critical to the story or the actors. In which some I am but just as a fan myself he is just one of those characters no one can play.

THE NEW FILM ELVIS seems to be doing ok. Happy for the family if it turned out ok for them. And perhaps later I'll see it on DVD. Do hope to get the CD soundtrack. But right now I'm letting it be Elvis. The real Elvis because it is the original that makes me happy. He entertains like no one else. I enjoy the stories of his generosity as I like watching films of him performing or acting in his own movies.

HE RILES THEM UP. He enjoys it,they enjoy it. No actor can perform that or give the impact his presence made that only Elvis himself can do. He's one of a kind. AN ORIGINAL!

"Let it be me...,"he sings. 

I answer him,"Elvis,it'll always be you."

LEARN FROM PAST

  "We can draw lessons from the past,but we cannot live in it." President Lyndon B. Johnson.  Learning and looking ahead makes a journey lessonable and rewarding. For the past is filled with mistakes as well as successes. And both are equally vital in learning in order to see the hopes of tomorrow.  If we fail to learn and understand the past we end up living in it. For it keeps repeating.  And if it keeps repeating, the worse it gets. So let us draw where the lessons are learned, teach where it's never repeated  so that we live for today and not yesterday.  And when we live for today. Tomorrow won't be so uncertain.  We shall overcome when we learn.And in each of us from family, education, community, faith and work ethics,we will be strong in each and our society will be great.  For a dream that is built by us all is a frontier we will accomplish together and America will be the promise we know it can be. So let us learn in order to see.

HAPPY AS WE MAKE UP OUR MINDS!

  "We are as happy as we make up our minds to be." Abraham Lincoln. I'm the happiest when I write-happiest taking a scrap piece of paper and start scribbling on it. Example like reading a quote from President Lincoln and writing it down because it tells me something. I find my treasure in scrap paper.So much I have it all over my office. When I see a quote or something comes to mind that strikes me.I grab that piece of paper and write it down. Something peaceful about a pen and a piece of paper.You can simply scribble and be just as happy with words.If the notes touch you,then you read it again and again.Sometimes I hurry writing and then can't read what I wrote. That disturbs,but I need to slow down when I write. But some of my writings I think to myself,"Did I just write that?"
