The Importance of Newspapers!
I started reading newspapers after I discovered John F. Kennedy in High School. At that time I learned as he did that newspapers were information. And although he read more and enjoyed it less sometimes it was because what they written of his administration but I've become less enjoyment of them because of some columnists and they're hate especially of current administration.
While I don't expect every President and his administration to be approved by every American.
But what I expect is fair judgement of their critic as well as praise. And to be fair from me to them as well in my judgement.
But the media is biased today. Some say they are fake news and enemies of the people. They can be both but in my judgement I can't go farther than bias. We still need them. But we need them for the truth not their hate, not their political attacks. We need journalists that looks out for the people and the country. Not a political party.
Newspapers are to me better than the internet. Internet has more fake news and you have to be skeptic in what you read. Newspapers are about community not just national news. And I look forward to Frank and Ernest in the comics. I enjoy a good laugh.
The status of our country and its division and its acts of violence.Whether it's over politics or religion or just simple hate for one man is disturbing to me. America needs to quit the hate and get back to being the ideal it was meant to be. Doing great and hard things.
I want newspapers to remind us of this not as left or right but as Americans. And to be fair in the criticism of current administration and give credit where it is due.
In the end whether I agree or not with newspapers. I still,America still needs them. Thanks 4 listening.
