GIVE PEACE A CHANCE-REMEMBERING JOHN LENNON! At one time he said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ. To whichjj to me he blurted that out of excitement for his band but John Lennon was not just a rock star entertaining Rock and Roll. He was an artist with an imagination of peace. AT ONE TIME he and wife Yoko stayed in bed for a week promoting peace and with everything going on about the war in Vietnam John could see what was going on with war. FOR CHRISTMAS he sang for peace WAR IS OVER if you want it. To be together old and the young,the near and the dear. A wish for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year and hope its a good one. It is always great when wars happen and end that someone is out there singing for peace. Something to be thankful for. IN THE LAST they say John wasn't very spiritual but his music was uplifting. Dreaming of entitlements instead of visioning and working in the arena of ideas. They'd rather march about climate change or spit anger at President Trump then work with their fellow man on working to better our society and our country. But the American Dream is not for the faint hearted either. It's for the strong spirit. Determined to rise to the occasion and build on the hopes  of not only their tomorrow's but the hopes of tomorrows for the nation. The American Dream is made for those who don't give up on the arena of ideas-who would search the unknowns instead of complaining about yesterday. For life is short and the great work is always ahead and it takes inspiration not negativity to steer us in great efforts to build on it. LINCOLN-THE POWER OF HOPE-By Bob DeLacy Jr "The power of hope upon human extertion  and happiness is wonderful."-Abraham Lincoln. EXTERTION-The struggle,attempt,endeavor. We know hope faces a struggle in which any attempt be something or someone who tries to spread it thru human efforts usually has the fight of others who opposes hope or has the wrong idea of what hope is. Some think it's power and control,while others with patriotic heart and courage of steel feels hope is power and free. President Lincoln had the second. While the struggle of hope  took a toll,his feet stood firmly in place,trusting in the Providence above,while attempting to secure freedom to those still chained. HOW HAPPY Mr.Lincoln was when the Civil War ended. So happy he vowed to Mrs. Lincoln to make trips. DARE TO BE GREAT IS A CHALLENGE,not an entitlement. It's an opportunity not a guarantee. For the fruit of the toil is the determination to work to be great.For no one can say they're at the top of the mountain if they haven't climbed one.It takes a great dare to be great to climb one. It also takes courage.For greatness don't come without sacrifice and courage.And until we realize this fruit of the toil-greatness cannot come. AMERICANS have always had a history of daring to be great. Taking risks,risking their very lives and fortunes for something greater than themselves. It is this fruit of the toil we remember them. SO DARE TO BE GREAT because you believe in something greater than yourself. Don't do it for fame and glory because that's materialistic unreal. And it don't last. APOLLO CREED-is one of my favorite movie characters-played by Carl Weathers. ROCKY BALBOA may have been an underdog story but even Slyvester Stallone knows,without Apollo Creed there wouldn't be a Rocky Balboa. Here's the story. Apollo,the heavyweight Boxing Champion had to find a fighter for America's Bicentennial.And all the ones he chosed were either hurt or had other obligations. So he chosed a local fighter out of a book of amatuer fighters. He chosed The Italian Stallion Rocky Balboa. Apollo even joked it sounded like a damn monster movie. Apollo Creed was unaware as Rocky himself was how this match would end up. For Rocky had the never give up spirit. Well it ended up 15 rounds with Rocky going the distance,yet Apollo still won. But it wasn't suppose to be that way. Apollo thought it would be quick and be a good show. Well it was,what both didn't realize till afterwards they wrote one the greatest chapters in Boxing history. JOHN WAYNE REMEMBERED-40YRS AGO "Don't use my name for anything other than helping people with cancer."-John Wayne telling his kids. 40yrs ago an American icon passed away June 11,1979.He died battling cancer.No one in Hollywood had much of an impact more than 'The Duke.'He was definitely  a favorite in our household. There was so many classic lines from his movies,but he would be proud of his family today.I remember reading somewhere that before he died he let the doctors use his condition to find answers to this terrible disease called cancer.He knew others had or were facing it and wanted to help on his end. It shows the example of a great man he was.And according to the story by his kids in Closer magazine he raised his family to have respect which many today lack respect.His son Patrick and another fine actor told Closer: "He was a big guy on core values-friendship,being trustworthy,honest and loyal.We learned these things by example and...
